Two youth detained in Lolab, locals protest | KNO

Kupwara, November 16 (KNO): Government forces detained two youth during nocturnal raid at Sever Thandipora area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and have allegedly vandalized the property.Local sources said that the forces raided several houses in the late hours in Sever Lolab and detained two youth from the area. The arrested youth were identified as Abass Shafi Malla, son of Mohd Shafi Malla and Ishfaq Ahmad Malla, son of Gh Mohd Malla both residents of Sever Thandipora Lolab. Reports said that the locals of the area staged a protest in the area, demanding immediate release of the two boys.The protesters said that the duo is not involved in any kind of activity. “We demand immediate release of them,” they said. Locals of the area also blocked Kupwara-Warnow road to register their protest. Meanwhile, SDM Sogam as per KNO correspondent reached the spot and assured the protesters that administration will look into the matter.(KNO)
